dSONIQ update Realphones headphone correction suite

Improved emulation algorithms, third-party profile support & more

dSONIQ Realphones 2.0 headphone EQ correction studio room simulation emulation software plug-in

dSONIQ have recently announced the release of Realphones 2.0, a new and improved version of their headphone correction and room simulation software. To find out more about what it's capable of, you can take a look at our review of the original version from SOS July 2020.

What’s New?

dSONIQ say that the latest version of the software represents a substantial leap forward both in functionality and user experience, and features drastically improved emulation algorithms that offer an enhanced sense of depth, space and realism. They’ve increased the amount of professional studio space emulations that are included, and there’s also an extensive collection of non-studio devices and environments that allow users to check how their mixes are likely to translate to everything from smartphones to playback in large concert hall spaces.

The software now gives users the opportunity to fine-tune the standard correction profiles, as well as supporting the import of third-party profiles from platforms such as Oratory1990. Some other improvements and enhancements in version 2.0 include native support for Apple Silicon processors, reduced latency figures and updated GUI colour themes.

Compatibility

Realphones 2.0 is supported on PCs running Windows 7 or higher (or 8 and higher for the system-wide application), and Macs running macOS 10.13 and above. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.
