Ultimate Ears UE PREMIER in-ear monitors

System uses 21 drivers and a five-way crossover

Ultimate Ears UE PREMIER custom IEM in-ear monitoring system

Ultimate Ears have launched their latest flagship IEM system, the UE PREMIER. Equipped with a total of 21 drivers and employing a five-way crossover, the company say that the system represents their most powerful, nuanced and versatile offering yet.

The system employs Ultimate Ears’ proprietary True Tone and Knowles Super Tweeter drivers, boasting a frequency range that extends up to 40kHz, whilst the mid- and low-frequency range is taken care of by a set of units which are able to offer a response all the way down to 5Hz.

Systems are supplied with custom fitment, with the company accepting 3D digital ear scans or allowing users to send in their own ear impressions to ensure a perfect, comfortable fit. Claimed isolation specifications are also impressive, with the system offering up to 26dB of attenuation.

Some visual customisation is available courtesy of a UE Switch option, which uses a twist-lock mechanism to allow users to quickly swap the outer faceplate for a variety of different colour and pattern options, and the system can be ordered with an Ambient Feature which features a small port in the faceplate, which when unplugged will introduce 12dB of bleed from external sources. The company say that when in use, the option will result in a slight loss of low-end resonance, and is not compatible with the UE Switch option.

Pricing & Availability

The UE PREMIER IEMS will be shipping in the second week of May 2023, priced at $2999. The Ambient Feature upgrade is priced at $50, and UE Switch will cost an additional $199, but is not available if the Ambient Feature is selected.
